Transforming Climate (In)justices - Voices From Abya Yala and Turtle Island

The Centre for Indigenous Conservation and Development Alternatives (@cicada_org) and the Mohawk Council of Kahnawá:ke (MCK) co-present an evening of video installation produced by McGill Students in collaboration with McGill's Critical Media Lab that highlights the voices and experiences of seven Indigenous leaders from across Abya Yala and Turtle Island as they unpack what Climate (in)Justice means to them.

The event will also serve as a launch for the "Lessons Learned Brief" from the Sept 28-October 2, 2023 retreat “Indigenous Peoples, Climate Justice and Action Research in the Americas: Exchanging Knowledges and Building Alliances for Territories of Life.” This retreat brought together over 50 Indigenous participants and their academic allies from across the Americas.

Light refreshments will be served.

Supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada, and Leadership for the Ecozoic.

Location: Critical Media Lab, Peterson Hall, Room 108.
